PS 320 Annex School
Project Overview
Kanta Electric played a key role in the construction of the new PS 320X Annex School, delivering the electrical systems required to support a modern, technology-enabled learning environment.
Scope of work included incoming electrical service, power distribution equipment, interior and exterior lighting systems, lighting controls, telecommunications infrastructure, fire alarm systems, CCTV and security systems, classroom technology infrastructure, grounding and lightning protection systems, and associated low-voltage systems.
Additional work included utility coordination, underground electrical distribution, duct bank installations, systems integration, testing, and commissioning activities required for project turnover and occupancy.
Understanding the Site and Challenges
Executed within a technically demanding institutional construction environment, the project required extensive coordination across multiple trades, phased construction sequencing, integration of critical educational facility infrastructure systems, and strict adherence to NYC SCA standards, NYC code requirements, and public-sector construction protocols.
The new PS 320X Annex School was developed to support long-term educational capacity expansion within the Bronx community through the delivery of modern instructional, technology, safety, and building infrastructure systems designed for long-term operational reliability and future flexibility.
This project highlights Kanta Electric’s experience delivering complex educational, institutional, and public-sector electrical infrastructure solutions across large-scale K-12 construction and modernization projects throughout New York City.
